Puppy Adoption Process

1) Fill out our Puppy Adoption Application
2) Place a $500 deposit (You can pay with a credit card or check)

3) After you have submitted your deposit, you will have 3 options available:

  • You may choose to adopt/reserve any available puppy.
  • You can commit your deposit to an upcoming litter from which you will choose your future puppy once that time arrives. Those folks who commit their deposit to a specific litter will be placed on a list of depositors for that litter. Once those puppies reach 7 weeks of age, those depositors will make their puppy selections (pups go home at 8 weeks of age). The puppy pick process  proceeds in sequential order with the #1 depositor selecting first, then the #2 depositor selecting second and so on.... in order, through to the last depositor on the list.
  • You may choose to have your name placed on our general Master List of Depositors for the opportunity to secure a top pick from a future planned litter.

*Please be aware that your deposit is refundable up to the point of puppy or litter selection. Once you select an available puppy or you choose to commit your deposit to a specific litter, where you will choose a puppy once available, your deposit becomes non-refundable. Exception: If there are not enough puppies available for you on your chosen litter (ie - mother dog whelps less pups than expected), you may switch your deposit to another existing litter or future litter, or you may request refund of your deposit. 100% of your deposit is credited towards your puppy purchase.

Our primary focus in our breeding of Bordoodles is to produce highly intelligent dogs with superb temperaments and a history of long life. These traits don't just happen by accident. We have spent many years doing research, performed DNA tests on every parent dog to help insure health and bloodlines, and we have tracked many of our puppies into adulthood. The compilation of this valuable information has helped us produce some of the most intelligent and healthiest Bordoodles in the world!

Puppy Price - $2,500

Early Neurological Stimulation
Early Neurological Stimulation, also known as the "Super Dog" program, was originally developed by the U.S. military for the purpose of giving puppies a head start and distinct advantage throughout their life. In Summary, the program improves cardio vascular performance, stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress and greater resistance to disease. Mountain Rose is proud to implement the "Super Dog" with all of our puppies.
Learn More

What is socialization? Introducing and familiarizing a canine to new experiences, including people, places, objects and other animals in ways that help the dog learn how to respond to and interact with these experiences appropriately and without fear. We provide our puppies with an environment that allows us to control their experience. We implement daily routines of love and affection involving holding and cuddling. We expose our pups to other animals, other people, new objects, new situations and individual walks on a leash. Because our adult dogs are treated with the utmost respect and given ample love and attention, our pups learn by observing their Mom's behavior and interaction with our family.

Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test

At 7 weeks of age (prior to choosing your puppy) we perform a Volhard Test on all puppies in the litter. This test will help you determine, with a fair amount of accuracy, the natural born temperament traits of the individual puppies - Is the pup reserved or outgoing, curious, cautious, brave, trusting, level headed, etc? Additionally, the test scores will also reveal the amount and quality of socialization that a breeder implements in the raising of the puppy from birth through 7 weeks of age. We feel that all "responsible" breeders should provide this information, but many do not. The reason that other breeders do not provide a Volhard test is because they do not want the potential revelation of "undesirable" temperament traits to ruin the sale of their cute puppies. In contrast, we want you to be as informed as possible, allowing you to choose the perfect puppy.
