Mountain Rose BordoodlesBorder Collie × Poodle

We sincerely appreciate your desire to learn more about our Bordoodle puppies, and always welcome questions and requests. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate visitors at our home until it is time for your puppy to go home at 8 weeks of age.

The health and safety of our adult dogs and puppies is our number one priority, as we strive to provide the healthiest bordoodle puppies possible. This is the main reason that we do not allow visitors to come and meet puppies before they are ready to go home at 8 weeks old.

Parvovirus (PARVO) is an extremely deadly disease that affects puppies and unvaccinated dogs, and in young litters of puppies almost always kills the entire litter. This virus lives on surfaces that infected dogs have touched, and remains in the soil for up to 7 years after an infected dog has walked or defecated there. People can pick up the virus on their shoes/clothes/in the car carpet without even knowing that they have been exposed, and it only takes a tiny microscopic amount to expose a puppy and subsequently infect them and the rest of the litter. The same can be said for other dog diseases, and we cannot take the chance of putting the puppies at risk by allowing large amounts of people to come into our home.

We follow extremely stringent health precautions upon entering our home and in our daily routines. It is not feasible to have numerous people daily do the same as it is very time consuming. We have the best interest of both our puppies AND our clients at heart, and everything we do is because we want to maintain the good health of our dogs and provide the healthiest puppy possible to you and your family.

If the safety of the puppies were not an issue, another reason we don't do casual visits is because of the limited number of dogs at our house. Because Mountain Rose Bordoodles and Mountain Rose Canine Training is family owned,  not all of the mother dogs live at our house. Some of our mom dogs live at the homes of our children where they too enjoy family life when they are not being bred.

We do sincerely appreciate your desire to adopt a puppy from our family and we hope you will appreciate our desire to protect our puppies and your best interests.
